Mehrwert:Landwirtschaft
AGRICULTURAL CONFERENCE ON DIGITIZATION, SUPPLY SECURITY & INNOVATION
Looking back at the Agricultural Conference Mehrwert:Landwirtschaft – A bridge to the future of agriculture
We look back with great pleasure at the successful Mehrwert:Landwirtschaft Conference, which took place on May 3, 2023, at the Steyr Campus of the University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria. This event provided a space for exchange, knowledge expansion, and forward-looking discussions in the context of digital transformation and sustainable development in agriculture.
The conference gathered around 150 participants, including students, experts, practitioners, and decision-makers from business, politics, education, and research. Under the motto “Mehrwert:Landwirtschaft,” central questions around digital innovations, the use of artificial intelligence, and the future challenges of the agricultural world were highlighted.
The event was shaped by inspiring lectures from high-profile speakers who shared their perspectives and insights on current developments. Discussions about supply security, affordable regional food production, and the opportunities of bringing together education, economy, and politics were at the center of attention.
A special thank you goes to LFS Kleinraming, who provided first-class catering.
Participants had the opportunity to choose from a rich selection of lectures, which took place both in the morning and in the afternoon. The broad range of topics covered various areas of agriculture, from technological innovations to ethical and ecological questions.
Ideas of the students
A highlight of the conference was undoubtedly the idea competition for students of the HBLA Elmberg on the topic of sustainable production. Young minds presented innovative approaches and solutions that showcased impressive potential for the future of agribusiness. This underscored the commitment and creativity of the next generation in this important sector. The main prize of the idea competition was the Farmification Award. The amount of €750 each was awarded to the victorious teams of the innovative ideas “Mushroom cultivation on by-products” and “Energetically optimized wood drying” as recognition. This prize money was generously provided by the Sparkasse and the company Lely to honor the outstanding performances of the teams.
Looking back at a successful first conference and into the future!
The Mehrwert:Landwirtschaft Conference thus not only provided a platform for knowledge transfer, but also an opportunity for networking and the creation of new partnerships. The event helped to define the future direction of agriculture and to set the course for sustainable, technology-driven development.
We want to express our sincere thanks to all participants, speakers, supporters, and contributors who helped make this conference a success. Together, we have made a valuable contribution to the further development of agriculture and to securing our regional food supply. We are already looking forward to the Agricultural Conference 2024, which will continue the achievements already made.
